Yes. It is true. Here's the evidence:
- Parents like talking to me about the stuff I do. Apparently, they think being a BME is impressive. And they think it's cool that I'm interested in business. NOBODY my age thinks that I should go into business. (No offense to you naysayers, but what do you think you know? You've never stepped outside of a lab or a classroom. Hello - there is a world out there. And it is not filled with people exactly like you.)
- Parents think I couldn't hurt a fly. Well, due to my size, insects are the only thing I am able to hurt... but yeah, that's pretty true otherwise. Unless you give me a golf club. Then I can really hurt some people.
- Parents think I can accomplish many things. Unlike those in my generation, these folks do not write me off, and they actually the things that I say seriously.
- Parents think I can mentor their kids. This is actually a plus - I love sharing my experiences from school, co-ops, and such because there is always an off chance that someone will be a good fit for the things I've been doing. And then I'm actually helpful. :-)
- Parents think I'm stable. I guess that's true - relatively speaking. :-D
You know, I know folks who fear meeting a significant other's parents. I think I'm the opposite - I don't have a fear of meeting a significant other's parents, but I do have issues finding a significant other! ;-) And I think I know what makes me unattractive to guys my age: I'm nuts. I have my own ideas, I do what I want regardless of what others think, and I use bullet points. I'm just not normal!
That's ok. It really looks like I'm going to end up with an old guy. But if "x" represents my age, and his age is "y", then y must be < or ="2*(x-7).
See. I told you I'm not normal.
