Lost in Translation - literally
Here's some fun. I got the idea from Liz V. to go to the Alta Vista translator (http://babelfish.altavista.com/), insert the lyrics of a song, translate the lyrics from English into a couple of different languages (pasting the result from the new language into the translator every time), and then eventually translating it back to English to see how closely it resembles the original English text.
Did I pick a normal song? No, of course not. :-D These are the actual lyrics from the chorus of "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" by Kenny Chesney, one of my fav country songs:
She thinks my tractor’s sexy
It really turns her on
She’s always staring at me
While I’m chuggin along
She likes the way it’s pullin’ while we’re tillin’ up the land
She’s even kind of crazy ’bout my farmer’s tan
She’s the only one who really understands what gets me
She thinks my tractor’s sexy
And here are the lyrics translated from English to Greek, Greek to French, French to German, and then German to English:
Think on mean tractor more provoking
these it open real
its that it urgently always looks at also,
during I chuggin for each length
is these I estimates the kind it is pullin "during we tillin" over the area
trelli the ' s period Bronzieren of my farmer is even good
the unique, that really enclosure that me these take
think mine from provoking tractor
BWAHAHA!! I guess having so many contractions didn't help matters either. :-D Bronzieren of my farmer... I love the Germans. :-) Let me know if you come up with anything cool!
