At work waiting for the traffic to die down a bit. So what do I do? Update my blog. :-D
Anyhow, I realized that I haven't done a list in a while. So I thought I'd post a short list of famous men and women I admire along with reasons for admiring them. This isn't a list of personal heroes though - that would make the list longer! Gonna save that for another blog. ;-) So here goes:
Top 3 Women I Admire (yup, ladies first!):
1. Annika Sorenstam. I had to have a golfer on here, and she is by far my favorite. She has been on top of the LPGA for 6 years now, and it's her tenacity and focus that I really like. She never gives up - which is great in the mental game of golf. I like her straight-forward style.
2. Elizabeth (Liddy) Dole. You take Hillary Clinton - I'll take Liddy Dole. She's the less emotional, less BS, and less nasty version of Hillary. 'Nuff said. :-)
3. Michelle Kwan. She's smart, she works hard, and she practices what she preaches. I admire her mental toughness. Definitely someone I'd like to meet someday if I am ever fortunate enough to do so!
Top 3 Men I Admire:
1. Tom Lehman. A classy golfer and a real gentleman. I like the humble golfers. :-) A bit old school for those of you who didn't start to pay attention until after Tiger Woods, but this was someone I always liked to watch.
2. Rep. Bob Livingston. Gave up the position of Speaker of the House in the midst of the Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal after it was revealed that he too had had an affair. True man of character and guts to give up a powerful position - and honest enough with himself to do it. And the funny part was that there were Democrats who came up to the podium asking Rep. Livingston to "retract his resignation". Many of these folks were the same people who had been taunting Livingston previously and daring him to resign! Shameless liberals...
3. General George S. Patton. A true soldier to the boot who was never afraid to express how he felt about something. Someone who lived to fight and win and was never afraid of a challenge.
