Chicago: My First Love

It's so funny. The city I fell in love with all those years ago is still one of my all-time favorites. Chicago was the first big city I experienced (thanks to CTD) and I loved everything about it. As I flew in from MBS to come down here a few weeks ago, our pilot took a scenic route from the north across the lake and I recognized Northwestern's campus: the lakefill, the Tech building, the Arch... everything I knew and loved. And then further down, the Sears Tower, Hancock building, Wrigley Field... the grin never left my face, even as I got off the plane.

So I thought I'd share some scenic pics of my experience thus far (staff and other fun pics to come later). :-) Enjoy!

Sears Tower view, from the Chicago/State L stop (Red line)
Chicago SummerDance Stage (free dancing, lessons, live music), Grant Park
and yes! that IS Ronald McDonald flirting with the dance instructor...
The live salsa band (Grammy winning... I think they were called the "Angel Menendez and the 9-11 Band" or something)
Night view of Chicago from Grant Park (Michigan Ave.)
