RTAs at Karaoke Night: here's me, Stacey, Megan, and Katherine belting on Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer"

Talent Show, Session II: Interpretive dancing to "A Whole New World" during the last act of our staff skit (I look like I'm about to fly away or something...)
So yeah... I did have a lot of fun, but I am looking forward to a NORMAL sleep schedule in AIR CONDITIONING again. (Especially since it is currently 3 AM and humid.) After I catch up on my lost zzz's, I am really going to miss the staff and my kids. It's been an intriguing 7 weeks, and I've got plenty of great memories. In a way, I feel like I've escaped reality this entire time, and that summer is really about to start rather than about to end. I'm also glad to get out of dorm life - I'd forgotten how crazy it was!!
In retrospect, I'm also really glad that I was never actually a staff member in a residential building during my college years. Here at Northwestern, I did much more of the "TA" part in RTA than I did the "R" part, and that's because I really felt my job was to help the students learn chemistry, not to police and scrutinize every move they made. Also, I can't stand the bureaucracy of the Res Life and the way they run things. Most of my responses to the Res Life things I had to do were "who cares?", "that's ridiculous!", or "why are we doing this?" I'm thankful that there are people who like being Res Life staff members, because it simply isn't me.
Anyhow, I should get to bed if I'm going to be running around O'Hare in the morning. (Yeah, it's my 4th airport duty... I now hold the volunteer record!)
